On Wednesday, May 6, 2026, Team TeraBridges, hosted a Remake Learning Community Build Day, bringing together adults and K–12 students to explore how engineering can make play more accessible for all children. During the event, participants adapted a dozen walking dog toys that were later donated to Child’s Way of Pittsburgh. Using a switch interrupter, volunteers modified each toy and connected it to a custom 3D-printed touch-sensitive switch, allowing children with limited motor abilities to activate and enjoy the toys independently.
The build day provided a hands-on opportunity to learn about adaptive technology while making a meaningful impact. Participants worked side-by-side to see how simple engineering solutions can remove barriers and create more inclusive play experiences.
