On August 23, 2025, TeraBridges had an awesome time at the 3rd Annual Building Bridges Day in Pittsburgh, PA! The event is all about bringing people together and celebrating unity, and we were so excited to share how robotics can help “build bridges” in our community.
We set up a whole area where visitors of all ages could explore different robots and try them out for themselves. One of the biggest hits was our outreach robot that we built over the summer. Kids (and plenty of adults!) loved taking turns driving it and launching wiffle balls across the demo space.
We also had our competition robot from last season on display and answered lots of questions about the FIRST Tech Challenge. People were really interested in learning how FTC works and how our team designs, builds, and programs a robot from the ground up.

For the younger kids, we brought along our Sphero Indi robots. These little blue car bots follow color tiles, and it was so much fun watching kids light up as they figured out how to program them through mazes. For older kids, we had XRP robots that they could drive while we explained how we used them in our summer camp to introduce middle school students to FTC concepts.
The best part of the day was connecting with so many people, kids curious about robotics, parents looking for opportunities for their children, and community members who just wanted to see something new. Events like this remind us that robotics is about so much more than competition. It’s about inspiring others, building connections, and, of course, having fun.
We’re so grateful we got to be part of Building Bridges Day and can’t wait to come back next year!
